The “Gole dell’Alcantara” in the Alkantara river are of vulcanic origins and they are located at approximately 10 kilometres from Taormina, in the direction of Motta Camastra and Castiglione di Sicilia. Tickets for the excursion can be bought at the reception directly. Excursions can be made by bus with multilingual guide or by private car with driver. The Alkantara excursion is a breathtaking experience, you will experience a full immersion into nature, especially if you choose the excursion with trekking included or by Jeeps. In these a pic.nic is included or, in special excursion types, also degustations in wine cellars or restaurants.

EVERY DAY from April to November. Departure from Taormina. 1^ stop: Monte Fontana (1280 mt.) to admire the Caldera della Valle del Bove (the most important geological site of mount Etna) 2^ stop: visit of the"Grotta dei Ladroni", a lava tunnel created by an eruption of more than 10.000 years ago 3^ stop: break at Rifugio Citelli (1750 mt), northern part of mount Etna 4^ stop: 45 minutes walk, to visit the craters Sartorius (1650 mt.) and admire a marvellous view 5^ stop: 2002 lava stream, the last impressing eruption of mount Etna 6^ stop: breakfast stop 7^ stop: Linguaglossa and Castiglione di Sicilia in order to reach the Alcantara Park.

8^ stop: we will walk through the Alcantara river, the most beautiful basaltic lava rocks built through thousands of years. We will reach Taormina around 17,30-18 h. Sicily is the perfect island for offroad experiences. Our team has long-year experience in this sector and disposes of plenty of jeeps. Mount Etna is the perfect location, such as the Peloritani Mountains, from where you will be fascinated by an extraordinary panoramic view.
